1. emelFM2



emelFM2 is a file manager for UNIX-like operating systems. It uses a simple and efficient interface pioneered by Norton Commander, in the 1980s. The main window is divided into three parts, described as “panes” or “panels”. Two of those (side-by-side or top-to-bottom) show the contents of selected filesystem directories. GNU Midnight Commander is a visual file manager, licensed under GNU General Public License and therefore qualifies as Free Software. It s a feature rich full-screen text mode application that allows you to copy, move and delete files and whole directory trees, search for files and run commands in the subshell. 3. PCMan File Manager

PCMan File Manager (PCManFM) is a file manager application developed by Hong Jen Yee which is meant to be a replacement for Nautilus, Konqueror and Thunar. Released under the GNU General Public License, PCManFM is free software.



4. ROX-Filer

ROX-Filer is a minimalist graphical file manager for the X Window System. It can be used on its own as a file manager, or can be used as part of ROX Desktop, a complete graphical desktop environment for Unix-like computer operating systems. It is the file manager provided by default in certain Linux distributions such as Puppy Linux and Dyne:bolic.

Thunar is a new modern file manager for the Xfce Desktop Environment. Thunar has been designed from the ground up to be fast and easy-to-use. 8. Nautilus

Nautilus is the official file manager for the GNOME desktop. The name is a play on words, evoking the shell of a nautilus to represent an operating system shell. Nautilus replaced Midnight Commander in GNOME 1.4 and was the default from version 2.0 onwards.



9. Krusader

Krusader is an advanced twin panel (commander style) file manager for KDE and other desktops in the unix/linux world, similar to Midnight or Total Commander. It provides all the file management features you could possibly want.



10. Konqueror

Konqueror is the file manager for the K Desktop Environment. It supports basic file management on local UNIX filesystems, from simple cut/copy and paste operations to advanced remote and local network file browsing.
